The choir will be attending Sandy Lake next Tuesday, May 12th.  We will be leaving the school at 7:30, so every choir member must meet at school at 7:15 – no later.  Please be sure to feed your child breakfast before sending him/her to school.  We will not have time to eat breakfast before we leave.

Upon arrival back to the school around 1:30, we will have our end of the year ice cream party.  I already have most of the items, however we are still in need of the following:

Hot Fudge, Candy Topping (not sprinkles) such as M&M’s, reeses pieces, etc., Whipped Cream, Cherries, and Chocolate Syrup.  If you could send one of these items to the music room by Monday, that would be great!

Thank you so much for a great year! We are really looking forward to next Tuesday.

If you are still interested in chaperoning the Sandy Lake trip, please call or email me.  I need about 3 more parents that are willing to drive and meet us out there. The bus is now full!

Thanks!

Due to TAKS testing on the 7th and a meeting on the 14th, choir will be cancelled.  We will rehearse at the end of the school day on the 9th to make up for this week.  Next week I will see the kids during their music time.

Thank you for your understanding!

I will be sending home the following note about Sandy Lake on April 1st.

Dear Parents of Eagle Singers,                                                                                                    April 1, 2009

The choir will once again be competing at the 2009 Sandy Lake Music Festival in May, located in Dallas.  This will be the 5th year that the choir attends this contest.  Our performance date is May 12th at 9:20 A.M.  The cost of the trip is the same, $15 which covers transportation cost and 20 tickets for rides at the park.  Each student is required to bring a sack lunch.  I will provide drinks for lunch and also a morning snack and drink for everyone.  All money is due by Friday, May 1st.  If you would like to start a payment plan with me, or want to just go ahead and get it paid and done with, please feel free.  I keep accurate records of everything on both paper and my computer, not to worry!

If you would like to chaperone the trip, your cost is $5 which includes transportation and 6 ride tickets.  You must be a BISD approved volunteer for our school and send the $5 with a note stating your intent to me to reserve your spot.  I will need approximately 6 parent chaperones for a successful trip.

If you have any further questions or problems, please feel free to contact me (see below).  All current information can be found on the choir website at www.eaglesingers.com

All Choir dues must be paid in full in order for your child to attend this field trip.

DES will be participating in the annual elementary choir festival next Tuesday, March 31st at 6:30 P.M.  All students are required to meet at the coliseum (located on Broadway & Carson) at 5:45 for a short joint rehearsal with the other BISD schools.  Doors will open at 6:15 for parents to enter.  There is a $1 donation per adult that will help toward music field trips in the district. Please have your child wear their choir uniform (08-09 shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes).  All Eagle Singers are required to attend this event and stay for the entire performance.  If a student does not follow both of these requirements, he/she will not be allowed to attend the end of the year field trip to Sandy Lake.  Please email or call me if you have any further questions.
